The University Archives section of Special Collections preserves the institutional memory of Ouachita Baptist University through the collection of official university records and related items of historical significance.Contact the archivist to arrange an appointment to access these materials in the library.
Administrative Offices
The Ouachita Baptist University Administrative Offices Files include records and documents that are created by the president’s and vice presidents’ offices and the offices that report to them. The materials include, but are not limited to, correspondence, reports, and published materials.
Chapel Services
The University Archives holds audio and/or video recordings of chapel services dating back to the early 1990s.
Committees
The library maintains the university's faculty committee web sites. Each committee posts minutes and other correspondence on the M: network drive in the "Committee Archive" folder.
Faculty Colloquium
Founded by Drs. Joe Jeffers and Everett Slavens, Faculty Colloquium is a gathering at which faculty present research and report on professional development activities. English Professor Betty McCommas delivered the first Faculty Colloquium presentation in 1974. Subsequent Faculty Colloquium presenters have included: 2000-2001; 2001-2002; 2002-2003; 2003-2004; 2004-2005; 2005-2006; 2006-2007; 2007-2008; 2008-2009; 2009-2010; 2010-2011; 2011-2012.
Faculty Meetings
The University Archives is the official repository for correspondence from Faculty/Staff Assemblies (occur at beginning of each semester) and Faculty Meetings (occur at end of each semester).
